Types of Removal Boxes

When choosing Cardboard Removal Boxes, there are a few things you might need to know.  Cardboard Removal Boxes come in two(02) thicknesses being Single and Double walled. Double walled Cardboard Removal Boxes are known to be suitable for packing heavy or fragile goods, whilst Single walled Cardboard Removal boxes are known to be suitable for the lighter and less fragile items such as smaller books, clothes, CDs, DVDs, small files etc...

This however depends on your budget aswell as what you intend packing in them, with the ultimate aim being - KEEP THE COST DOWN. Always use a good quality packing tape to stick the box ends together. Use mutiple layers of tape if necessary, especially if the box is going to contain fragile items. Check our discount cardboard box packs out, as we've offered some generous discounts on them.

You might also like to know that Cardboard Removal Boxes usually come either stapled or glued. Glued Removal Boxes tend to be safer on the hands, especially if the kids insist on helping with the move.

Fragile Items

Use plenty of Bubble Wrap and Tissue Paper to pack all crystal, cutlery and crockery. It's worth mentioning that Acid Free Tissue Paper greatly reduces the chances of your goods being stained. Pack items individually and tape them up before you place them in the box. Pack smaller items together and larger ones seperately. Place them in individual boxes rather than together, the reason being that smaller items could get damaged by the larger items in the box.  Last but not least, clearly mark FRAGILE on your boxes so that the removal company would handle them with care.

Final Checklist

Ideally, you should try and have most of your boxes in one single room as close to the exit point as possible. This would make your move much faster, and would reduce the possibility of damaging your walls. Doing this can also save you time by allowing you to clean up all the other rooms, even before the removal date. Make sure the boxes are marked with details of which room you would like them placed in your new home or office - just little things that make life so much easier.

Once you have finished the daunting task of packing, you could run through the following checklist we have created to make sure you have all points covered.

  • FRAGILE items have been individually wrapped with bubble wrap and tissue paper and packed fairly tight to avoid movement whilst in transit.
  • Large items such as Sofas,Futons and Fridge freezers have been measured prior to the date of removal to ensure they can be removed though narrow doorways.
  • Fridge/Freezer has been emptied and shelves, trays and compartments removed and packed separately.
  • Paintings and wall hangings have been removed and individually packed.
  • All Cardboard Removal Boxes have details of where you would like them placed in your new home.
